Navigating change through aspiration,
adventure, action and accountability
I came to coaching and mentoring after a 25-year career as a senior leader in media organisations in the public and private sectors in New Zealand and Australia. I specialised in institution building and organisational change.
My clients come from a range of public and private sector organisations in Australia, San Francisco, Toronto, Jamaica and New Zealand. My clients are navigating a variety of changes: Operational to strategic roles, work life balance issues, team effectiveness, career planning, moving to “C” suite roles and board reporting. I have also coached new board members to enable them to bring their expertise to the board table effectively.
I have developed a variety of tools in service of my clients’ needs. Mentoring enables me to share my executive experience directly with some clients. Coaching is a structured conversation between equals in which the adventure of change is navigated through challenge and support leading to action and accountability.
I am accredited by the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership in Sydney having completed 3 levels of practical coaching as well as Team Coaching and a theory module. I have completed levels 1 and 2 of Acceptance Commitment Training led by Russ Harris. I am an accredited practitioner of the Harrison Whole of Life instrument as well as The Leadership Circle. I participate in group supervision and attend regular and professional development courses. I am a member of the International Coach Federation.
I have a wide range of interests including cultural activities like film, live music and literature, outdoor activities like bush walking, boating and fishing and fitness through yoga and functional body work. I am engaged in a stoat eradication project on D’Urville Island. My parents are still living and I help care for them. I have two adult children and a baby grandson who brings joy to all our lives.
